That growing older should never mean growing more alone. Here's why families across Lucknow trust Maitri with the people they love most.
Maitri Elder Care was founded with a simple purpose — to make sure no senior in our care ever feels like a burden, and no family ever feels alone in this journey. We saw too many capable, loving families struggling to balance work, distance, and the growing needs of aging parents.
So we built a team of trained, background-verified caregivers, nurses, and coordinators who show up not just with skill, but with warmth. Every visit, every call, every check-up is handled the way we'd want our own parents to be treated.
Today, we support hundreds of families across Lucknow with home care, nursing, hospital coordination, companionship, and round-the-clock emergency support — so seniors can live with independence, dignity, and joy.

A former educator from BHU, Kumkum experienced first-hand the loneliness many seniors face after retirement — and built Maitri to give every senior companionship, purpose and genuine care.
An MBA with an HR background and a technology course from IIT Kanpur, Shipra brings together an understanding of people and technology to make elder care simple, accessible and dependable.
Maitri was born from a personal experience and a deeply felt purpose.
Kumkum Trivedi, the founder of Maitri, completed her education from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and went on to build a fulfilling career in teaching. Her years as an educator gave her a deep understanding of people, relationships and the importance of meaningful human connection.
After retirement, however, she experienced a change that many seniors quietly go through — the loss of a daily purpose, reduced social interaction and a growing sense of loneliness. Over time, she realised that this was not just her personal experience. Conversations with friends and people in her circle revealed that many seniors were facing the same challenges.
She began to understand that ageing is not only about managing medical needs. It is also about having companionship, emotional well-being, a sense of purpose and someone who genuinely cares.
This realisation became the inspiration behind Maitri.
Kumkum envisioned an ecosystem that goes beyond doctors, medicines and emergencies — one that supports the overall well-being of senior citizens, including companionship, social connection, emotional support and mental wellness.
The name Maitri reflects this very philosophy — friendship, warmth and companionship.
Her vision is to create a trusted support system where seniors feel cared for, connected and valued, while their families can have peace of mind knowing that their loved ones have someone dependable by their side.
Maitri is therefore more than a service. It is an extension of a personal journey — from experiencing the impact of loneliness to creating a community of care and companionship for others.
Bringing together empathy, people understanding and technology.
Shipra Garg, Co-Founder of Maitri, holds an MBA and brings valuable experience in Human Resources with renowned organisations. Her professional journey in HR gave her a close understanding of people — their needs, concerns, behaviour and the importance of creating solutions around the individual.
While working closely with people, Shipra developed a strong understanding of how the right support system can make everyday life simpler and more meaningful.
To strengthen the technological foundation of Maitri, she further enhanced her skills by completing a course from IIT Kanpur. This combination of HR experience and technical understanding became an important part of Maitri's approach.
Technology should not make life complicated, especially for senior citizens. Instead, it should work quietly in the background to make support simple, accessible and easy to use.
At Maitri, she brings together an understanding of human needs with technology to create practical solutions for seniors — helping connect their everyday requirements with the right support, services and care.
Her vision is simple: use technology not to replace human connection, but to make care more accessible, responsive and dependable.
Every interaction is rooted in empathy, patience, and genuine care.
Every caregiver is background-verified, trained, and closely supervised.
No two seniors are alike, so no two care plans should be either.
24×7 helpline and emergency response, whenever it's needed most.
